Gotye is a Belgian-Australian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His real name is Wouter "Wally" De Backer, and he was born on May 21, 1980, in Bruges, Belgium. He gained international recognition with his hit single "Somebody That I Used to Know" in 2011, which topped the charts in multiple countries and won three Grammy Awards. Gotye is known for his unique blend of indie rock and alternative pop music, which draws influences from various musical genres, including folk, world music, and electronic.
